Written by Kirk Durston – One winter afternoon I was relaxing with a half-dozen fellow graduate philosophy students discussing theories of law and punishment. About an hour into the discussion, it occurred to me that some moral laws might limit pleasure and enjoyment in the short term but in the long term minimize suffering and maximize human fulfillment.

I want to start by making my position clear: I support the wall, and I believe securing the border is a national emergency that can legally and Constitutionally be handled by the Federal Government. That being said, is an executive order the best way to do it? No, remember what happened when Trump took office? He undid most of what Obama had done by executive order. That means the next President could potentially undo every executive order Trump does. The next President might tear down the wall we just built. In short, executive orders are only effective for as long …

Taxation without Representation In June of 2017 I was sitting in a school board meeting for the Iron County School District. In Utah, the school district can raise property taxes for those within its boundaries, with only the requirement that they let everyone know that they will be raising said taxes. The school board watched us present our arguments, nodded (as if they were listening to our concerns), and then voted the way they wanted to, regardless of what the rest of the citizens said. Politicians can get away with raising taxes to pay government employees more, because government workers …

Written by Greg Trimble https://www.gregtrimble.com/quit-acting-like-christ-was-accepting-of-everyone-and-everything Too many people are neglecting what is in the scriptures and trying to “customize Christ”. You can’t do that…seriously. Too often we read a few scriptures that make us feel good and then omit everything else that we know about Jesus that might make us feel bad. Some have bowed down to modern trends and allowed themselves to be manipulated by the media and false teachers. Too many people are looking for a religion that is easy. In the world, we are offered instant salvation and taught about a Christ that accepts everyone just the way they are. There is …

Homosexuality Throughout the Ages People will tell you that Christ never said anything against homosexual sin. This is quite simply false. Most people simply do not understand the New Testament because Christian scriptures lack some of the context that can be found in the Torah. In fact, Christ referred to the very first instance homosexual marriage was instituted on the earth. Christ said, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe …

Hello everyone!I try to stay up to speed on current events and prophecy, and I’ve come across quite a few interesting things! I have had a few requests to compile my sources, so I thought I’d do that here and include my commentary. These items are great topics of study, but to summarize, I am going to share about two solar eclipses happening this year. These two solar eclipses will pass over 3 sites significant to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Please note: I’m not making any predictions, I simply find these findings interesting, and I take …

Overall, Trump has done a great job. How could he make it amazing? By making the changes permanent.

When I was a younger man, still in college and trying to understand the downward spiral of societal morality, I started to question laws regarding gay civil unions. On the one hand I thought, “Well agency means everyone can do whatever they want, right? Do I have the ‘right’ to stop them from sinning?”On the other hand I thought, “That doesn’t seem right, I think I’m missing something.” I read studies where (unbiased) psychologists noted many issues involving the children of gay parents, among many other practical reasons to oppose gay marriage, but I thought, “I’ll wait to see what the …

Parenting is possibly the most rewarding challenges in existence. Not just as mortals, but our Heavenly Father has said: “For this is my work and my glory, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” The Almighty’s whole focus is in rearing His children to become just like Him. There are a lot of plans and theories on how to best raise children, but the most reliable sources of truth are always found in the scriptures. We can learn good parenting practices by watching the Lord’s example as He leads the children of Israel, the Nephites, and …

I want to sum up what is going on before you watch the video, and some of what I share is not covered in the video, but it is still interesting. First you will need to understand that the Greek Zodiac is a corruption of the Israelite’s Mazzaroth, which was likely revealed to Abraham and is referenced in the book of Job. Signs in the heaven are actually very common, which makes sense since God said He made them “for signs and for seasons.” Explaining the Image To fill in a little of what is not explained in the above image, Jupiter (the King …
